Zverev Reaches Settlement in Abuse Allegation Case

Alexander Zverev has reached an out-of-court settlement within the home abuse case he was contesting.

Olympic gold-medal champion Zverev has agreed to pay €200,000 in a settlement for the case to be dropped. German media stories €150,000 will go to the German treasury with €50,000 paid to charity with each Zverev and his ex-partner and mom of his baby, Brenda Patea, each agreeing to cease the case.

“There was a settlement between the defendant and the complainant,” the Berlin’s Tiergarten District Court docket stated in a press release revealed by BBC. “This settlement just isn’t a part of this trial although and the courtroom just isn’t a part of this settlement.”

In a press release issued to the media, Zverev’s lawyer stated “Alexander Zverev stays harmless” of the home abuse expenses.

The settlement got here hours earlier than the fourth-ranked Zverev was set to face two-time French Open finalist Casper Ruud for a spot within the Roland Garros last.

Brenda Patea alleged Zverev strangled her throughout an argument in her Berlin residence constructing in Might of 2020.
