After raising trophies over the weekend, Donna Vekic and Marta Kostyuk are two of the tour’s biggest risers in this week’s WTA rankings.
Kostyuk, who claimed her maiden title at the ATX Open in Austin, Texas, rises 12 spots to No.40 in the world. That’s a new career-high for the 20-year-old Ukrainian.
Vekic, who defeated World No.5 Caroline Garcia for the title in Monterrey, rises eight spots to No.23. That puts the Croatian four spots shy of her career-best ranking of No.19, achieved on November 4, 2019.
Biggest Risers – Russia’s Varvara Gracheva and American Katy Voynets
Varvara Gracheva fell to Kostyuk in the Austin final, but rises 22 spots to 66 – the Muscovite is seven spots shy of her career-high of 59.
American Katy Volynets, who reached the third round at the Australian Open this year, jumps 18 spots to a career-high of 74. The 21-year-old lost to Gracheva in three sets at Austin.
Also Notable: Lin Zhu and Sarra Errani
China’s Lin Zhu continues to excel in 2023. After reaching the round of 16 at the Australian Open, Zhu also tacked on a final at Hua Hin and a semifinal at Monterrey to her record. She is up to 33 in the world, up eight spots this week.
Italy’s Sara Errani took home a title in Arcadia last week to return to the Top 100 for the first time since June of 2018. She rises ten spots from 107 to 97.
