Updated After LSG vs PBKS Match 21

In the doubleheader today, Royal Challengers Bangalore emerged victorious against the Delhi Capitals in the first game whereas Punjab Kings earned a well-fought win against a formidable Lucknow Super Giants without their regular captain Shikhar Dhawan. However, the Purple Cap has seen a lot of shuffles after today’s games.

Wood reclaims top spot

Mark Wood, who has been raging fireballs upon batters in this tournament, has finally managed to reclaim his long-lost top spot. He cleaned up Jitesh Sharma and Harpreet Brar and ended up giving away 35 runs in his 4 overs. With these two wickets, he now has 11 wickets in 4 games and is currently the holder of the Purple Cap.

Bishnoi bowls with a big heart

Ravi Bishnoi once again showed that he was a bowler with a big heart as he picked up 2 wickets in 2.3 overs and ended up on the losing side. Having been introduced into the attack in the 15th over, Bishnoi showed that he would have turned the tide of the game had he been introduced in the attack earlier. Nonetheless, he has finally found himself back in the top 5 with 8 wickets in 5 games and is currently the 4th best bowler in the league.

Arshdeep and Siraj firing up

Since this is a World Cup year and the Indian team is putting two of its stars under close observation, Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh. So far, both the pacers have been in some decent form and have been doing well for their respective teams. While Arshdeep is at the 5th spot in the Purple Cap race, Siraj is just one spot behind him. Arshdeep has 8 wickets in 5 games whereas Siraj has 7 wickets to his name in 4 games.
