A fast look on the ATP doubles rankings exhibits a serious milestone for Greece and the Tsitsipas household.

After claiming his first ATP doubles titles alongside his brother Stefanos in Antwerp, Petros Tsitsipas has now formally entered the Prime-100. The 23-year-old rises 29 spots to a career-high rating of 81.

It was a proud second for the household, as older brother Stefanos has at all times made time to take Petros underneath his wing, as he dedicated himself to their doubles success regardless of his busy singles schedule.

Now they’ve their first ATP title to have fun.

“That is what we dreamed about rising up.” Tsitsipas stated in a submit on Instagram.

He stated these emotional phrases after the ultimate, in accordance with the Tennis Letter:

“There are actually a whole lot of feelings. I have to say that I’ve performed a whole lot of tournaments in my life, I’ve received a whole lot of titles, and I’ve nice reminiscences. However this one struck me another way, and I can say with nice confidence that it’s in all probability one of the crucial emotional and essential moments of my profession, much more than the singles titles.

“Having the ability to win with my brother is unimaginable. We have been little children operating round hitting tennis balls and it will by no means have occurred to us that we might have the chance to play ATP 250, 500 or 1000. I want to thank Petros and everybody who made this attainable. We now have come a great distance and I actually hope we will proceed to take action. And that we will help one another in our personal manner and make this journey a dream.”

Afterwards the pair celebrated, with Paula Badosa, the girlfriend of Tsitsipas, taking the selfie honors.
