Thibaut Courtois went ‘FULL Loris Karius’ with huge howler against Liverpool, Mo Salah punished Real Madrid

Real Madrid star Thibaut Courtois channelled his ‘inner Loris Karius’ after producing a huge howler against Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

Liverpool took the early lead at Anfield after Darwin Nunez, who has been heavily criticised for his lack of impact this season, produced a sensational finish against Madrid.

However, things turned even uglier for Madrid inside the first 20 minutes after Courtois’ ‘Karius-esque’ mistake.

Madrid defender Dani Carvajal pinged a 35-yard backpass to Courtois, who opted to try and control the ball instead of punting it clear.

Courtois decided to take a couple of nervy touches before he slipped, which allowed Salah to pounce on the loose ball before he buried it into the back of the Madrid net.

“Courtois having a Karius moment,” one fan said on social media.

Another tweeted: “Courtois channelling his inner Karius.”

A third wrote: “Courtois becoming prime Karius!”

“Courtois doing his best Karius impression AGAINST Liverpool, ironically,” one Twitter user posted.

And a fifth added: “Karius is disguised as Courtois, I am 100 per cent sure.”

Madrid managed to bounce back from the costly Courtois error seven minutes later after Vinicius Jr fired a stunning curling strike past Brazil teammate Alisson.

Vinicius then went on to complete a stunning first-half brace after Alisson kicked the ball off the Madrid star’s leg while being under pressure from a Joe Gomez backpass.

Liverpool and Madrid are 2-2 in the first leg of their round-of-16 Champions League tie ahead of half-time.
