Serie A: Lukaku’s touching message to Turkey earthquake victim Atsu: It was amazing to be around you

After several months without a goal, Inter Milan‘s Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku scored the opener in the Serie A match against Udinese.

He got two attempts at the penalty after missing the first kick. It had to be repeated due to encroachment and, this time, Marco Silvestri couldn’t stop it, despite the fact that he put it in the same place.

Once the goal had been scored, Romelu Lukaku pointed to the sky as a sign of respect and remembrance, and a name popped into everyone’s head: that of Christian Atsu.

The Ghanaian player was one of the unfortunate victims of the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on February 6.

Lukaku did not miss the opportunity to remember his former team-mate, with whom he played with at different times, first at Everton, and then at Chelsea.

After weeks of searching, rescue teams found the Ghana international’s body last Saturday, the day Inter played.

“Rest easy brother. This one is a hard one to take …It was amazing to be around you. You’re humbleness and love for God. The way how you worked in training. The love you had for your family and kids. May God give all the strength to your kids and family…God bless your soul. Love you always,” Lukaku said in an Instagram post.

Inter won 3-1 at the San Siro against Udinese and continue their ill-fated pursuit of Napoli, who are a whopping 15 points ahead of them.
