German broadcaster Sport1 reports that both captain Marco Reus and #1 net-minder Gregor Kobel are not options for Dortmund’s Revierderby showdown with Schalke later this evening.

Though official confirmation will obviously have to wait until later this evening, Sven Westerschulke of Sport1 is reporting that Dortmund will not chance it with either Marco Reus or Gregor Kobel in this evening’s historic 100th Bundesliga Revierdeby. The Schwarzgelben had been sweating over the fitness of both players this week.
Other sources – including Westphalian newspaper “Ruhr Nachrichten” and Sky Germany – have claimed that Reus lost the battle against time in his quest to recover from a flu-like infection. Kobel, struggling with a muscle problem, also did not make his way to the squad’s hotel along with the rest of his teammates.
One should emphasize that these reports, based on hotel attendance as they are, may still prove incorrect. Both Sky and Sport1 have gotten it wrong multiple times in the past, most recently with Daichi Kamada’s so-called agreed-upon transfer to Dortmund.
Bitter für @BVB: Marco #Reus und Gregor #Kobel fallen heute Abend aus @SkySportNews Beide werden nicht rechtzeitig fit fürs Revierderby, wie auch @berger_pj berichtet #S04BVB
