Report: Russell Westbrook plans to sign with Clippers

Russell Westbrook reportedly is set to reunite with former teammate Paul George in Los Angeles.

Russell Westbrook plans to return to Los Angeles and sign with the LA Clippers, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Westbrook was officially waived by the Utah Jazz on Monday. Westbrook will become a free agent after he clears waivers.

The former Kia MVP was traded to the Jazz from the Los Angeles Lakers before the 2023 trade deadline.

Westbrook is averaging 15.9 points, 7.5 assists and 6.2 rebounds over 52 games this season.

The 34-year-old guard will join fellow NBA 75 member Kawhi Leonard in LA, along with All-Star Paul George, who Westbrook played with for two seasons in Oklahoma City.

The Clippers (33-28) are currently 4th in the Western Conference standings.
