Real Betis vs Real Madrid Preview
Real Betis host Real Madrid this Sunday evening in what looks to be one of the games of the weekend. Betis will be hoping to put their key injuries aside and pick up points in their pursuit of the top four whilst Los Blancos will look to bounce back after a disappointing midweek loss to Barcelona.
The hosts currently sit just outside the Champions League spots, two points behind Atletico Madrid in fourth. Betis have been a mixed bag in 2023, winning five of their eight matches in LaLiga and losing three. Manuel Pellegrini’s side have won three on the bounce however, putting them right amongst the others in the fight for top four.
Last time out, Betis won 3-2 away at Elche in a game filled with controversy. Despite trailing 2-0 at half time, Betis turned it around in the second half, scoring three times as well as missing a penalty to gain all three points.
Betis would be thrilled to make it four wins in a row against the champions this weekend, however it will be an even bigger task given that they will be without star players Sergio Canales and Nabil Fekir.
Real Madrid come into this match after an underwhelming week. After defeating Liverpool 5-2 at Anfield, it seemed Los Blancos were back on track however they failed to maintain this level of performance against rivals Atletico Madrid and Barçelona, drawing with the former in LaLiga and losing to the latter in the semi finals of the Copa Del Rey.
Despite these setbacks, Carlo Ancelotti’s side must bounce back right away as with El Clasico coming up, Real will almost definitely have to win all of their upcoming matches to have a chance of winning the title. A win away at a side like Betis could raise the player’s confidence ahead of a crucial few weeks.

Score Prediction: Real Betis 1-2 Real Madrid
Betis have in fact had a better run of form than Real Madrid in recent weeks, albeit with a less tough run of fixtures, so Manuel Pellegrini’s men will be up for this match and confident of grabbing at least a goal given their goalscoring form at the moment.
However, Betis being without two key players, combined with Real Madrid’s need to bounce back means it would not be a shock to see Real Madrid leave the Benito Villamarin with all three points with a tough but crucial win.
