PSL 2023, WATCH: Netizens troll Babar Azam after Mohammad Amir dismisses him for a duck

In the 17th match of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023, Karachi Kings pacer Mohammad Amir showcased his vintage avatar, exhibiting sensational bowling against Peshawar Zalmi at Pindi Club Ground in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.

Amir was breathing fire as he bowled a fiery spell to get rid of Mohammad Haris as well as Babar Azam in the opening over of Zalmi’s innings. The left-arm fast bowler first trapped Haris for a duck on the very first ball. The batter did opt for DRS but had to go back eventually.

Thereafter, Saim Ayub took a single and gave skipper Babar a strike. However, Pakistan’s batting stalwart couldn’t survive the venom spewed by Amir.

The Pakistan captain tried to flick Amir through the on-side but was hit on the pad. The on-field umpire didn’t have any hesitation in raising his finger. Like his opening partner, Babar also used the review but didn’t succeed, and after the first over of the Zalmi innings, the score-line read 2/2.

Social media also went crazy as Amir, who recently took a dig at Babar, trapped him without troubling the scorers. Many fans trolled the Pakistan skipper for the way he got out against his former franchise. Here is how the netizens reacted:

In the match, despite losing Babar early, Zalmi managed to reach 197/5 in their alloted 20 overs, thanks to brilliant contributions from Rovman Powell (64 off 34), Haseebullah Khan (50 off 29) and Tom Kohler-Cadmore (56 not out off 45).

In response, the Kings couldn’t chase down the target and only reached 173/8, losing the contest by 24 runs. Opener Matthew Wade (53 off 41) and all-rounder Imad Wasim (57 not out) did shine with the bat but it wasn’t enough to get the team over the finish line.
