Player of the Match Nat Sciver-Brunt Thanks UP’s Sophie Ecclestone For Dropping Her Catch In WPL 2023 Eliminator

Mumbai Indians Women defeated UP Warriorz in the eliminator match of WPL 2023 and booked their ticket to the final. Player of the Match Nat Sciver-Brunt, who scored 72-off-38, commented on her side’s win, the batting-friendly pitch, and thanked UP’s Sophie Ecclestone for dropping her catch.

MI were sent out to bat first. After a slow start, the team picked up momentum after the 10th over, thanks to Brunt and captain Harmanpreet Kaur. This was when Nat was dropped on 7 by Ecclestone. Following Kaur’s wicket, the English all-rounder strung a decent partnership with Amelia Kerr and took her side to 182/4 in 20 overs.

“The crowd was incredible tonight. The noise when Wongy took the hat-trick was incredible, if we could bottle that energy up and take it, it would be great. The wicket tonight was very nice for batting. We needed a good score on the board to defend it. It was very enjoyable bating out there, surprised myself with a few shots actually. I have said thank you (to Sophie Ecclestone) for dropping me. She would usually take those, luck of the draw fortunately. It swung nicely up here, really good fun. Yeah absolutely and really excited to make it to the final and hopefully enjoy yourselves. Hopefully, start on 0 and see how we go from there.”
