Pegula Pulls out of BJK Cup Finals, Will Be Changed by Ashlyn Krueger

2024 US Open runner up Jessica Pegula is not going to compete for Crew USA at this 12 months’s BJK Cup finals.

The USTA introduced the information on Wednesday, saying the Ashlyn Krueger will exchange her on the group.

Krueger will be part of Danielle Collins, Peyton Stearns, Taylor Townsend and Caroline Dolehide on the U.S. Billie Jean King Cup group competing within the upcoming Finals, to be performed November 13-20 in Malaga, Spain.

Will probably be a BJK Cup debut for Krueger, a 6-foot-1 20-year-old from Dallas who notched three wins over High-25 gamers over the summer season and reached the third spherical of the US Open. She’s at the moment ranked No. 65 in singles and No. 64 in doubles.

Krueger took out teen sensation Mirra Andreeva, 6-1, 6-4 on the Grandstand at this 12 months’s US Open, as she broke the 17-year-old’s serve six instances and dominated from the baseline to win in 64 minutes. She is a former Orange Bowl and USTA 18s champion.



The U.S. will play Slovakia within the first spherical in Malaga on November 14, with the winner advancing to play Australia within the quarterfinals. Every tie will likely be a best-of-three competitors with two singles matches and one doubles match.
