Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has ripped into the current crop of players, claiming they wouldn’t have survived under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Solskjaer’s time at Old Trafford isn’t looked on in particularly good light, especially with Erik ten Hag having already secured a trophy in his first season with the club.
The Norwegian, who was also heavily linked with the Manchester City striker when he was in charge of United, apparently wanted the club to sign Haaland when the pair were at Molde together.
Whilst not much that Solskjaer touched turned to gold, it did at least seem like the ex Cardiff City manager had brought the players together.
They certainly looked like they were having a better time playing for him than they had under Mourinho, especially at certain points in his tenure.
However, now it seems like not all was good in the camp, with the 50-year-old appearing to go in two footed on the group of players, calling them ‘snowflakes.’
Speaking to the Athletic about the United team that Solskjaer played for, the Treble winning striker said, “The lads in that dressing room were absolutely fantastic. Keano was the leader, the one everyone looked up to.
“David May was the joker, the clown. Gary [Neville] is still the busiest and was the busiest back then as well. Nicky [Butt] and Giggsy [Ryan Giggs] were the entertainers.
“It was just a fantastic dressing room. Winners, who hated losing. They had a few fights, like you should do, after bad games. You had to shake each other up.
“If you do that to the boys now, they will get their dad, or their mum, or their agents… snowflakes. Not many of today’s lot would have survived in that dressing room.”
During his time in charge at the Theatre of Dreams there was plenty of criticism for Solskjaer, who initially joined as an interim boss.
Solskjaer revealed that he actually received a phone call from his former boss apologising for what he’d said, perhaps he’ll have to call some of his own former players after calling them all snowflakes…
