Okay.J. Choi leads Senior Open by 1 shot coming into remaining spherical

CARNOUSTIE, Scotland — Okay.J. Choi birdied the final gap to regain the only real lead of the Senior British Open after three rounds on Saturday.

The South Korean golfer takes a one-shot lead into the ultimate spherical at Carnoustie.

Choi, up by two in a single day, led the sphere by six after 14 holes. Then consecutive double bogeys pegged him again and, going into the 18th, he was tied with Richard Inexperienced, who carded a 4-under 68.

On a gap he bogeyed within the first two rounds, Choi birdied and closed with a 70.

Like Choi, Inexperienced has by no means gained a senior main, however the Australian has completed high three in two senior majors this 12 months.

India’s Arjun Atwal was third, two strokes behind Choi at 6 below after a 67.

Atwal was two pictures away from England’s Paul Broadhurst, the 2016 champion.
