Napoli have placed a huge transfer fee on Man Utd target Victor Osimhen

Napoli are determined to keep Victor Osimhen at the club this summer, after his huge success, and have slapped a huge asking price on him.

Last summer, Napoli lost a huge number of their most important players, with Kalidou Koulibaly, Fabian Ruiz, Lorenzo Insigne and Dries Mertens all amongst those leaving.

Insigne and Mertens are third and fourth on the club’s list of most ever appearances and second and first on the list of highest ever goalscorers.

As well as being all but guaranteed their first league title since 1990, when Diego Maradona was leading the side, they have a great chance in the Champions League.

That success has inevitably led to their best players being linked with potential summer moves, with Nigeria striker Osimhen top of that list.

He has been strongly rumoured to be one of United’s top targets but, according to Il Mattino, the Naples side want £150 million for the forward, and won’t even sit down to discuss a transfer for any less.

A striker is Erik ten Hag’s priority for the summer, as he looks to bring in more outlets than just Marcus Rashford for goals in his side.

Harry Kane is reportedly their top target, with the Tottenham Hotspur striker having just over one year left on his contract in north London.

At just 24-years-old, Osimhen may appeal to United as someone who can score goals for them for longer, having bagged 21 goals in 23 league games in the current campaign.

Unfortunately for United, like Levy at Spurs, the Italian side’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, is known for being a very tough negotiator.

Chelsea have also been linked with the striker, and Todd Boehly’s recent spending suggests he won’t exactly be put off by the fee involved.
