Thomas Müller has made a brief statement in response to Julian Nagelsmann’s surprise sacking as Bayern Munich coach, which was announced on Friday.

The 33-year-old took to Instagram to post a picture of himself and Nagelsmann shaking hands and the short text:

“Thank you and your team for your commitment, dear Julian Nagelsmann. All the best and bye for now.”

Müller’s Bayern teammates Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka spoke at length about Nagelsmann’s dismissal after Germany’s win over Peru, expressing surprise and disappointment at the decision.
