Miami Open to Host University of Miami Match

The Miami Open host Hurricanes this month.

The tournament announced today it will once again host University of Miami’s tennis team for a dual match, on Friday, March 31st at 3 p.m. The Miami Hurricanes will host Clemson University at Hard Rock Stadium for the opportunity to spotlight collegiate tennis on the world stage.

“We are extremely grateful and excited for the opportunity to play at Hard Rock Stadium during the Miami Open,” University of Miami head coach Aljosa Piric said. “Our team will not only get to compete at a big-time venue, but also take in the sights and sounds of the Miami Open. It is an incredibly unique experience that we are very fortunate to be a part of.”

Since Piric took over the program ahead of the 2017 season, the Hurricanes have qualified for the NCAA Tournament four times over the last six years and advanced to the second round in both 2018 and 2022. Miami holds an 81-62 record during Piric’s seven seasons at the helm of the program and sits at 5-2 so far in 2023. Two Hurricanes currently appear in the ITA Singles Rankings, graduate Dan Martin (No. 28) and sophomore Martin Katz (No. 70).

Fans can secure tickets now to view all the collegiate matches by purchasing tickets to Session 21 for $75 which includes access to the collegiate competition on courts 8-12.

The Miami Open presented by Itaú, taking place March 19-April 2, vows it “will be bigger and better than ever before.”

The Stadium Court within Hard Rock Stadium returns and the revamped site will include new infrastructure, and more green space where fans can relax when taking a break from the great tennis action.
