Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja spoke about his match-winning performance in the 12th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 against Mumbai Indians. He said that the Rohit Sharma-led side have many power hitters in the team and he wanted to bowl in the good areas.

However, the chief architect behind their 7-wicket win over MI was all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. The southpaw bowled a staggering spell that rattled the middle order of the opposition and put them under pressure. With the kind of start MI had, it was expected that they would post over 200 runs on the board. But the all-rounder broke the backbone of the Mumbai Indians as he bagged big wickets in Ishan Kishan, Cameron Green, and Tilak Varma.

Jadeja spoke about his match-winning performance and revealed that his plan along with Santner was to bowl in the good areas and they keep advising each other. Speaking at the post-match presentation, he said:

“When we were bowling, the odd ball was turning. So me and Mitch wanted to bowl in good areas because they have so many powerhitters. Everytime we come here, the wicket plays different – sometimes it is flat, sometimes it is sticky. (On partnership with Santner) We surely discuss, whoever starts advises the other person on what lengths to bowl. We keep talking and advising each other.”
