Speaking to a reporter from the Münchener Abendzeitung in the catacombs of the Allianz Arena last night, FC Bayern München fullback Noussair Mazraoui openly bpoiced his dissatisfaction with his lack of playing time with his current club.

Noussair Mazraoui is finally back fully fit again after heart-related issues stemming from a COVID infection relegated him to the sidelines back in January. The Moroccan international has nevertheless been unable to find his way back onto the pitch for the record champions; logging just 13 minutes of action in two brief relief appearances since the turn of the calendar year.
Mazraoui’s projected long recovery time was one of the primary reasons Bayern opted to bring Joao Cancelo in on loan during the most recent transfer window. The Moroccan right back now finds himself behind Cancelo, Benjamin Pavard, and Josip Stanisic on the FCB depth chart. A reporter from the Münchener Abendzeitung caught up with the World Cup representative in the Allianz Arena catacombs last night.
“Before the World Cup I was in the starting XI,” Mazraoui complained, “now I’m fit and don’t get any playing time. I’m not even second or third choice. It feels like I’ve been forgotten. I am a fighter. But if the situation remains like this, it’s not what I want! And not what I deserve. It’s too early to talk about my perspective here, but it’s not good.”
Mazraoui joined Bayern on a free from Ajax Amsterdam last season. The 25-year-old maintains an estimated market value of €28 million in the latest transfermarkt listings. With so many conflicting reports about what Bayern wish to do with Pavard and Cancelo, it is indeed difficult to foresee how the club will handle its right-back situation in the coming offseason.
