Man Utd, Newcastle and Tottenham’s remaining Premier League fixtures compared as Red Devils face busy run-in

Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham all secured vital victories on Saturday as they battle to finish inside the top four places in the Premier League.

Providing Arsenal and Manchester City finish in the top two places, only two of the above three teams can automatically qualify for the Champions League next season – although there is a scenario in which United can finish further down and still qualify via winning the Europa League.

Erik ten Hag’s side produced a dominant display to defeat Everton 2-0 at lunchtime, with Newcastle winning 2-1 away at Brentford later in the day.

Tottenham, meanwhile, completed the trio of positive results with a controversial 2-1 victory over Brighton, where VAR intervened on several occasions.

Newcastle and United both have 56 points from 29 games, with Eddie Howe’s side ahead on goal difference.

Spurs are three points further back, having played a game more than the two teams above them.
