A young Manchester United fan got ready for his side’s huge Europa League game against Barcelona on Thursday by hilariously squaring up to hundreds of away supporters.
United and Barcelona may both wish they were in the Champions League but last week’s brilliant 2-2 draw proved both sides were still going to try and win the Europa League.
The atmosphere in the Nou Camp for the first leg was excellent, although one United fan may have wished he hadn’t goaded the home support, after losing his hat.
Even before that, on the streets of Manchester, one young fan was hilariously setting the mood for the game, trying to take on 100s of away fans, as you can see in the video below.
The young kid’s attention for a fight certainly would have changed from the away fans to French referee Clement Turpin, who took charge of their defeat in the 2021 Europa League final, in the first half.
Franck Kessie’s cross was headed away by Raphael Varane to the edge of the area, with Alejandro Balde racing to get on the end of it.
With Balde facing away from goal, Bruno Fernandes tried to beat him to the ball, slightly tugging on the defenders arm, sending him spiraling to the ground.
Robert Lewandowski stepped up and put the visitors ahead, despite David de Gea’s best efforts to keep it out.
The comment was seen as disrespectful and fans assumed the former Sporting star would react either with some magic or mayhem.
