Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez has revealed what he first thought when he visited Carrington.
Martinez arrived at Old Trafford from Ajax in the summer, having previously worked under Erik ten Hag at Ajax.
The Argentina international has since described the “amazing” feeling when he arrived at the training ground.
“I feel at home”
Speaking to MUTV, Martinez revealed he was “happy” to be working under Ten Hag again, admitting he understood the manager’s “mentality”.
“I feel at home since the first day here,” said Martinez. “When I [first] put my foot in Carrington I remember it was an amazing feeling.
“So I’m happy to be with him, to work with him. I know his mentality, he knows my mentality as well. So, in a quick time we get the first trophy so we have to work for everything, we have to believe.
“This club demands to win every game, every title, so we are happy to take this responsibility.”
The Red Devils travel to Real Betis for the second leg of their Europa League tie on Thursday, as they look to secure progression to the quarter-finals.
However, Martinez has stressed that his side need “full focus” or else they could lose.
“Tomorrow, [in] the game we start 0-0,” Martinez said.
“We have to be ready. We need full focus tomorrow because it’s going to be a hard game for us.
“So if you are not focused you can lose this game. For sure the first leg was a great result for us, but it doesn’t say anything. In football everything can happen, so we have to be ready.”
