Mainz climb to 3rd with win over Gladbach

Mainz received their fourth recreation in a row, this time beating Borussia Mönchengladbach 3-1 to maneuver as much as third within the Bundesliga.

Mainz noticed off Borussia Mönchengladbach 3-1 at Borussia-Park on Friday evening. 

Gladbach got here near opening the scoring after round 26 minutes when Tim Kleindienst’s header was tipped onto the crossbar by Robin Zentner.

As a substitute, it was Mainz who broke the impasse within the thirty ninth minute via Paul Nebel to go into the break 1-0 up. 

Dominik Kohr doubled the lead shortly after the break when he slotted residence after Nadiem Amiri’s free-kick.

Stefan Lainer threw Gladbach a lifeline within the 73rd minute after Robin Zentner did not take care of a cross correctly and the ball fell on the Gladbach defender’s ft.

However Nadiem Amiri quickly crushed Gladbach’s hopes of a comeback, slamming the ball into the online to make it 3-1.

The win leaves Mainz in third place, two factors in entrance of fourth-placed Eintracht Frankfurt, who tackle Union Berlin on Sunday.
