LPGA cancels Palos Verdes occasion over missed funds

The LPGA has canceled the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship close to Los Angeles as a result of the underwriter of the match didn’t make funds for the 2024 and 2025 tournaments.

The LPGA stated in an announcement Friday that canceling the match was unavoidable as a result of the underwriter failed to satisfy “any portion of its fee obligations.”

Nelly Korda was the defending champion at Palos Verdes Golf Membership. The match had been scheduled for March 20-23.

The tour stated it might work with title companion Fir Hills and Pak, the Corridor of Fame match host, to discover different choices.

“We stay devoted to bringing this occasion again to our schedule to honor the unbelievable legacy of Seri Pak, who has been an exquisite ambassador for the sport and this occasion,” stated Liz Moore, the interim LPGA commissioner.

Pak, a South Korean native, performed on the LPGA Tour from 1996 to 2016 and received 25 occasions, together with 5 majors. She was inducted into the World Golf Corridor of Fame in 2007.
