Linette, Frech Set First All-Polish Closing in WTA Historical past in Prague

Magda Linette and Magdalena Frech will play the primary all-Polish remaining in WTA Open Period historical past in Prague.

The pair of Poles denied Laura Samson and top-seeded Linda Noskova on Thursday to achieve the ultimate on the pink clay on the Livesport Prague Open.

Linette edged Noskova in a grueling battle, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(2) in two hours and 46-minutes, changing her seventh level to seal the victory.


Frech was first to undergo. She took out 16-year-old sensation Samson, advancing when the first-time semifinalist bowed out with a left thigh damage whereas trailing. Frech scored the 3-6, 6-0, 4-2 RET victory.

Samson, the present junior No.3 who was making her WTA foremost draw debut, turned the youngest participant to achieve the semifinals on her WTA debut since Donna Vekic in 2012 this week in Prague.

57th-ranked Frech has gained 4 consecutive three-setters to achieve the ultimate. She is going to bid for her maiden WTA title in opposition to two-time WTA titlist Linette.
