Kylian Mbappe could be the key to Man City winning the Premier League and Champions League forever more

Manchester City basically reached perfection this season, finally winning the Champions League and capturing the Treble, weirdly only Nathan Jones stopped a potential quadruple.

Pep Guardiola and most of his players may as well have called it a day after beating Inter Milan in Istanbul with not much left to achieve.

Arsenal fans might not want to hear it but the only thing left other than being the first team in English football to win the league four years in-a-row is going undefeated all season.

With every other team this was somewhat serious but with City I’ve been wondering all week what in the world I could actually write other than ‘keep doing what you’ve been doing.’

So if City are going to have an absurd amount of money to play with then they’re really under an obligation to make use of as much of it as possible.

Ultimately if they do that it will be a hell of a summer but it will kill potentially kill football off forever.

Whilst it was difficult to know where to start with Tottenham Hotspur because of the amount of different players they need, it’s tough with City because they don’t really NEED anyone.

Moises Caicedo could be an alternative if Rice does decide to stay in London, although the Brighton star is also linked with Chelsea.

If not they could jump ahead of a whole host of rivals and bring Romeo Lavia back from relegated Southampton, after he impressed on the south coast.

If we’re being totally honest it does feel like Kalvin Phillips is already never going to make it at the Etihad Stadium, just one year after signing.

Often players take a while to properly bed into Guardiola’s system but it’ll be a surprise if the former Leeds United star becomes a regular starter anytime soon.

Gundogan was named on the released list on Friday whilst Bernardo Silva, Aymeric Laporte and Riyad Mahrez could all leave, with the latter linked to Saudi Arabia.

Cole Palmer is another who feels like he’ll never quite reach the standard to be a regular first team starter but you really never know.

Walker is now expected to leave. Image: Alamy

It’s unlikely to happen obviously and he’ll probably go to Real Madrid for free in a year but Guardiola should at least give it a try!

Mateo Kovacic is expected to join as well from Chelsea, helping them out of their FFP jam, which won’t effect a move for Rice.

Josko Gvardiol is considered one of the best defenders in the world and can play in the middle or at left back, making him perfect for Pep.

The Croatian was shown up in the World Cup by Lionel Messi but before that he was one of the players of the tournament in Qatar.

If City can’t get him for some reason then they could look at Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni, who impressed for the Italians on their way to the Champions League final.

Brighton’s Julian Enciso would also be an interesting alternative if they’re only looking for someone who can play at left back.

If all of this came to fruition imagine how successful City would be? Then again even MSN and BBC didn’t win everything for Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Both those sides had unreal forward lines and a front three of Haaland, Mbappe and Jack Grealish, or even Phil Foden, would be a match for the other trios.

Let’s hope none of this does happen, otherwise City’s rivals could be in a lot of trouble.
