Jordan Henderson shouted instructions to Darwin Nunez but it completely backfired

Jordan Henderson was heavily criticised by Liverpool fans, after his instructions to Darwin Nunez immediately backfired against Nottingham Forest.

There hasn’t been as much to cheer about for fans of Jurgen Klopp’s this season as there has been in pretty much every other one of the German’s other campaigns in charge at Anfield.

His ‘seven year curse’ seems to have struck this year and they will end the season completely empty handed, and would still take a hell of a turn around for them to finish in the top four.

On Saturday, the team did manage to earn all three points, and stunt Forest’s chances of staying in England’s top tier for a second season.

Neco Williams equalised against his former club just minutes later, only for Jota to once again but the home side in front, five minutes after Forest’s goal.

It was the second equaliser of the afternoon that annoyed Liverpool fans, as Henderson told Nunez to stop marking Morgan Gibbs-White, only for the forward to score moments later, whilst completely unmarked.

There’s no doubt there’s a comedic element to the whole situation, especially the club captain looking round in annoyance before realising it’s his own fault.

Admittedly, fans of the Merseyside club didn’t quite find it as funny as everyone else, and were annoyed with the Sunderland midfielder.

“Unbelievable from Henderson pushes Nunez off his opponent and is then left all alone. If I was Klopp I would’ve taken Henderson straight off for that,” said one supporter.

“Then he has the audacity to look at Nunez like it’s his fault,” added a second.

A third harshly stated, “Biggest clown to play for Liverpool.”

Another joked, “He was left with enough space there to have some tea and biscuits. Awful stuff,” although he probably had a point.

“HE’S GOTTA GO MAN WE’VE HAD ENOUGH,” shouted a fourth, clearly angry, supporter.
