Jake Paul sends Mohamed Salah message as Liverpool Champions League failure confirmed

YouTuber Jake Paul has sent a heartfelt message to Liverpool star Mohamed Sabah after it was confirmed Jurgen Klopp’s men could no longer qualify for the Champions League.

The Reds had a rocky start to the 2022/23 Premier League season but have put together an impressive run of form in recent weeks, going unbeaten in their last ten fixtures with seven wins recorded in the process.

Prior to this evening’s clash between Manchester United and Chelsea, Liverpool still had an outside chance of securing a top-four finish as they sat on 66 points, narrowing the gap separating them and Erik ten Hag’s men in fourth to just three points.

However, with goals from Casemiro, Antony Martial, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford on his return from injury, the hosts were able to come away with all three points against Chelsea and in doing so, guaranteed a spot in next seasons Champions League competition. Joining Manchester City, Arsenal and Newcastle United as a result.

Salah, who set up Roberto Firmino in their last fixture to secure a crucial point against Aston Villa at the time, instantly took to his personal Twitter account to apologise to the fans following the news. He said: “I’m totally devastated. There’s absolutely no excuse for this. We had everything we needed to make it to next year’s Champions League and we failed.

“We are Liverpool and qualifying to the competition is the bare minimum. I am sorry but it’s too soon for an uplifting or optimistic post. We let you and ourselves down.”
