Ivo Karlovic, aka Dr. Ivo, Makes His Retirement from the ATP Tour Official

Ace maven Ivo Karlovic, the previous World No.14 who stands No.2 on the ATP’s all-time ace record, has made his retirement from the ATP Tour official. He had been out of motion since Indian Wells in 2021.

The person who holds single-match ace information for the Australian Open (75), Roland Garros (55), US Open (61) and Davis Cup (career-high 78), posted a message on social media on Thursday.

“A few of you might have observed that it’s been some time since I performed a match and nonetheless ask me every day if and after I’ll be returning to the tour. I’m sorry to disappoint, however with this letter, I wish to make it official and at last announce my retirement,” he wrote.

“I’ve had a really gratifying, unorthodox and lengthy profession coming from extraordinarily humble beginnings, particularly for a tennis participant. Croatia was a really completely different nation within the 80s and 90s after I was rising up, and I’m very pleased with my accomplishments and what I’ve been in a position to overcome.”


Karlovic, at the moment 44, was an eight-time ATP title winner, and reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon in 2009.

“I’d prefer to thank all of the coaches and individuals who have been concerned in and contributed to my growth as a tennis participant,” he wrote. “With out you this lucky journey wouldn’t have been potential.
