Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria believes that India should have opted for left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav instead of fast bowler Mohammad Siraj in the third Test of the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. Kuldeep Yadav was left out of the starting eleven for the first three matches as the team management picked three spinners and two pacers.
India lost to Australia by nine wickets in the third Test of the ongoing four-match series. The hosts struggled against Australian spinners in the match and scored just 109 runs and 163 runs in the two innings, respectively. Nathan Lyon was adjudged the Player of the Match for his performance. The visitors made a comeback in the test series after suffering defeats in Nagpur and Delhi.

Kuldeep Yadav Has Been In Fantastic Form – Danish Kaneria
In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Kaneria opined that Mohammed Siraj should have been rested to make room for Kuldeep Yadav on the spin-friendly track in Indore.
“India missed out on a genuine bowler. Kuldeep Yadav has been in fantastic form, and he should have been a part of the playing XI. India could have afforded to go with just one fast bowler in this match. Umesh Yadav was coming in fresh, so they had the option of resting Mohammed Siraj. India made a mistake here,” Danish Kaneria said.
Siraj picked up only one wicket from four innings in the ongoing Test series and went wicketless in the last two matches. Kuldeep Yadav, on the other hand, has been in impressive form in recent times.
The chinaman spinner was named Player of the Match for his performance with both bat and ball in Bangladesh. He took eight wickets and scored a crucial 40 runs, but he was dropped from the playing XI for the second Test.
