A study shows how every Premier League club was affected by VAR in the 2022/23 season and it doesn’t make great reading for Manchester City.
The Blues produced a stellar campaign to win their third league title in a row as they pipped Arsenal to top spot.
That’s despite VAR being against Pep Guardiola‘s side as they were four key decisions worse off due to the use of video technology.
Not to mention Brighton, who also had four key decisions go against them as a result of VAR. But Roberto De Zerbi’s side managed to claim a sixth-place finish, securing Europa League football for next season.
Leeds United and Leicester City, who were both relegated on the final day of the league season, as well as Arsenal and Tottenham also had VAR go against them this season.
Wolves, West Ham United, Southampton and Crystal Palace were also in the negatives in terms of VAR decisions.
As for VAR going for them, Brentford were the biggest winners from reviews this season. They were six decisions better off thanks to VAR.
