Glasner reveals N’dicka too is a doubt, Ebimbe once again fit enough to start

Eintracht Frankfurt trainer Oliver Glasner confirmed that, in addition to missing Philipp Max for the weekend encounter against Gladbach, he might have to do without defender Evan N’dicka.

Potential replacements for both players – Kristijan Jakic and Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe – are, per Glasner, still fit and ready.

Glasner specifically noted at his Thursday presser that Lenz had played in the back-three late in last year’s Europa League Final. Glasner will also get Tuta back from suspension. If need be, makeshift center-halve Kristijan Jakic is still ready to go after some light injury issues this week. Mario Götze’s suspension shouldn’t be a problem as Daichi Kamada can easily slot into attack.

When it came to one of his returning players, Glasner was pleased to reflect upon the comeback of right wingback/central midfielder Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe off the bench last week after a long injury layoff. The PSG loanee has never played in Max’s position on the left-rail, but hadn’t served as a right wingback either until Glasner opted to use him in such a capacity earlier this season.

Glasner revealed that he was considering a start for Ebimbe, though the 22-year-old certainly wouldn’t be fully fit for a full 90 minutes of action. Current RWB starter Aurelio Buta is also naturally a right-sided player. So too, however, was Knauff until Glasner began to use him on the left this season.
