Borussia Mönchengladbach sporting director Roland Virkus has insisted that Marvin Friedrich will remain at the club beyond the summer.

A month ago, Friedrich publicly complained about his lack of first-team football and opened up the possibility of leaving in the summer should his situation remain the same.

Virkus, however, doesn’t want to let the player go. When asked about Friedrich’s future, he told Bild:

“What about his future? He has a contract until 2026, so the question answers itself.

“Yes, of course he’s staying here.”

The 27-year-old center back has started 11 Bundesliga games this season.
