“He trusted the individuals who labored beneath him, so his assistant coach would ship all of the coaching classes, his medical crew would ship all [their work]. On the coaching pitch he allowed Steve McClaren or Kiddo [Brian Kidd] to ship each session with out interference.

“Now, you think about two issues: one, concerning the belief that that builds in your crew, which may be very uncommon. It was consistency over the 15 years of listening to his crew speak.”
