Frances Tiafoe and Alexander Zverev each swore at umpires after controversial calls of their matches on the 2024 Shanghai Masters.
Tiafoe fell to a 7-5, 5-7, 6-7(5) defeat to world No 61 Roman Safiullin within the third spherical of the ATP Masters 1000 event.
The world No 17 battled again from a 2-5 deficit within the third set to power a tiebreak, however narrowly misplaced following a contentious umpiring name at a vital second.
