Former Liverpool star Sadio Mane set for shock return to Premier League rivals

Former Liverpool star Sadio Mane could be set for a controversial Premier League return to Chelsea, according to the latest reports.

Mane enjoyed a hugely successful six-year stay in Merseyside, winning the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup under Jurgen Klopp.

The 31-year-old racked up 120 goals and 48 assists across all competitions for the Reds, cementing his place in the club’s history books.

He decided to call time on his career at Anfield last summer, opting for a new challenge with Bayern Munich.

However, the move has not gone quite according to plan, with the Senegal international coming under fire for his poor performances on the pitch as well as his behaviour off it.

However, Chelsea are seemingly willing to overlook Mane’s underwhelming spell in Germany, believing he could be a useful addition at Stamford Bridge.

Mane to Chelsea?

So far, they have made little difference, with the Blues having slipped into the bottom half of the Premier League table, just 10 points clear of the relegation zone.

However, the club aren’t finished just yet, and are eyeing up a shock move for Mane this summer, claim Football Insider.

Bayern will reportedly listen to offers for the player, but are thought to want a to recoup the £35 million they paid for him last summer.

Whilst Chelsea must ensure they stay within the laws of financial fair play, following this season’s huge spending spree.
