Erling Haaland scores stunning goal to bring up latest milestone

Erling Haaland continued his ridiculous season by bringing up his 30th Premier League goal, with a moment of utter magic.

There aren’t many records that Haaland is likely to leave unbroken by the end of the season, and he reached his latest milestone on Saturday evening.

He opened the scoring during Manchester City’s game with Southampton, nodding home from Kevin de Bruyne’s cross on the stroke of half time.

Jack Grealish doubled the team’s lead after the break, but it was the Norwegian superstar who produced the moment of the match.

Scoring his 30th goal in just 27 games in England’s top tier, the former Borussia Dortmund striker took flight and bicycle kicked Grealish’s cross into the back of the net.

“Unreal – what else is there left to say about the machine that is Haaland!? Gotta recognise game, it’s quality finish,” enthused one fan.

“He is unbelievable!”, added a second.

A third used previous questions about the quality of Haaland’s goals to say, “Still a tap in merchant?”

On the same topic, a fourth noted, “Nah but remember he only scores tap-ins. Bro silenced the haters.”

“Blimey,” simply stated another.

Other fans weren’t too keen on how Sky described the goal, with one summing up, “This has got to be the worst commentary I’ve ever heard, completely dampened down the goal.”

And on the quality of Grealish’s contribution, someone posted, “The assist is just as good. Fantastic.”

Haaland was actually missing last weekend, when City faced rivals Liverpool in the league, but Pep Guardiola’s team didn’t miss their top goalscorer.

Of course, that didn’t stop him returning to first team action a week later, as Guardiola’s men travelled to the south coast for their game against bottom of the table Southampton.

Despite the Saints poor season, they actually beat the defending Premier League champions at St Mary’s earlier in the campaign, in the Carabao Cup.

Haaland’s 29th and 30th goals of the season meant that was never likely to happen again, and it also meant he’d scored more goals than Chelsea in the league.

He needs just five more in the final nine games in order to beat Alan Shearer’s record of the most goals in a Premier League season, you’d be mad to bet against him.
