Dortmund possess low-cost purchase-clause for Bremen’s Njinmah

Speaking to Germany’s main sporting tabloid and Bremen’s famed “Deichstube” website, SV Werder Bremen licensing director Clemens Fritz expressed the hope that young attacking prospect Justin Gideon Njinmah would be back in the Hanseatic City State to play for the Werder professionals next season.

With an estimated market worth of €700,000 in the latest transfermarkt listings, Njinmah is among the most valuable players currently active in Germany’s third professional footballing flight. Sport Bild reports that there is actually a purchase clause built into Njinmah’s loan contract that will allow Dortmund to secure the player permanently for only €1 million.

The tabloid further reports that SV sporting director Frank Baumann has already met with counterpart Sebastian Kehl to discuss the player’s future. Njinmha’s own preferences will obviously play a role in whether he wishes to return to Bremen or take his chances on a much more talent-stacked club. Fritz’s words effectively guarantee him a shot at regular playing time, while the depth chart in Dortmund may stymie his prospects.
