Chelsea’s admin bizarrely decides to mock Leeds United after Premier League relegation

Chelsea seem to have forgotten just how disastrous their own season has been after mocking Leeds United for their Premier League relegation.

Things did not go as planned for Sam Allardyce and his Leeds team on the final day of the league season on Sunday afternoon at Elland Road.

Allardyce knew that his side needed a bit of a miracle in order to continue their stay in the top tier of English football, needing to defeat Tottenham Hotspur and hope both Everton and Leicester City relegated.

Things never got better for Leeds either apart from when Jack Harrison gave them a slither of hope to make it 2-1, only for Spurs to score two minutes later.

Whilst some will have sympathy for the Yorkshire side going down it seems that certainly doesn’t stretch to Chelsea’s social media team.

Quote tweeting a post from Leeds back in August last year, when they beat the Blues, the admin of the west London team suggested that ‘life comes at you quick.’

Leeds’ original post was relatively funny and as the underdog in the scenario was pretty well intentioned and the kind of thing you’d expect.

Chelsea though were punching down with their joke and they have had a truly terrible season, finishing in 12th place which is their worst league position since 1994.

It is genuinely embarrassing that they posted that reply and fans on social media were quick to jump all over the Stamford Bridge side’s misplaced hubris.

“Chelsea beefing with relegation teams. Todd Boehly era ladies and gentlemen,” said one fan.

“YOU ARE 12TH HAHAHHAAHAHHAAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHHHHA,” laughed a second, rather manaichally.

A third questioned, “How long was that in your drafts?”

“Flexing from 12th after spending 600 million, shameless,” noted a fourth.

“Nah no way you’ve fallen from grace this hard. Finishing 12th and bantering relegated teams,” another supporter pointed out.

“You just finished bottom half after spending 500 million plus pounds,” commented a sixth.

And the Athletic’s Adam Crafton perfectly summed up the situation, replying, “Chelsea’s rivalry this season being with a relegated team neatly encapsulates Chelsea’s own season.”
