A disappointing news for Indian fans as reports about Bumrah not being cleared by the BCCI and NCA for the IPL have surfaced all over the internet. As stated in the report, Jasprit Bumrah is being closely monitored at the NCA, and he will only get his clearance certificate when the NCA feels Bumrah is back to 100%. As a result, Bumrah is most likely to miss the entire season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) which is set to begin in less than a month’s time, as well as the finals of the World Test Championship in June.
According to these latest reports, the team management and the NCA want Jasprit Bumrah to be fully available during the World Cup season, and hence they seem to be in no rush whatsoever to bring the 29-year-old pacer back into action. As per a report, Bumrah is not feeling well and faces a possibly lengthy break.
Bumrah, who has picked up 319 wickets for India in 162 outings for India, across Test, One Day Internationals, and T20 Internationals, has been out of action for more than 5 months now. The right-arm fast bowler played his last match in Indian colors on 25th September against Australia (T20 international), and fans have been waiting for his comeback ever since. The earliest we may be able to see him back in action could be at the Asia Cup in September this year.
The NCA had dropped hints last week that fans may get to see Bumrah back in action during the IPL, as he would only be required to bowl 4 overs a match. However, as per the new policies that the BCCI and NCA have reportedly been drafting, BCCI may stop players from participating in the IPL if their workload is too overwhelming during the rest of the year.
