WWE Superstar Baron Corbin went one-on-one against the iconic “Island Green” ahead of THE PLAYERS Championship. No, the Island Green is not a brave in-ring challenger; it’s one of golf’s most famous holes – the 17th at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., home of PGA Tour’s THE PLAYERS Championship, airing this week on NBC, Golf Channel and Peacock.
Corbin’s bout with the famously difficult, 24-yard-wide Par 3 island (well, peninsula) hole was certainly a challenge for the seasoned Superstar. While he gave it noble effort, Corbin dropped several golf balls in the surrounding pond.
“I’m happy to leave this one to the pros,” he remarked.
