It was a day of one-sided affairs as both of today’s winning teams dominated their opponents in their respective games. In the first game, Chennai Super Kings restricted Mumbai Indians to 139 runs and chased it down in just 17.4 overs to seal their sixth win of the season. On the other hand, in the second game, Delhi Capitals chased down a target of 182 runs in just 16.2 overs to bash Royal Challengers Bangalore. As a result, there have been several changes in the Orange Cap race after today’s doubleheader.
Faf and Kohli continue their consistency
RCB’s skipper Faf du Plessis and his opening partner Virat Kohli have continued to be the backbone of RCB’s batting line-up. The duo once again gave RCB a dream start as they put up 82 runs for the first wicket in just 10.2 overs, before du Plessis was removed by Mitchell Marsh on 45 off 32 balls. However, Virat continued a little longer and scored 55 off 46 balls.
While Faf has cemented his position at the top of the Orange Cap with 511 runs in 10 games, Virat Kohli has moved up to the 4th position with 419 runs in the same number of games. Faf has a commendable lead of 53 runs and has also played one game less than the player in the 2nd position.
