Kei Nishikori will not be making a Flushing Meadows return.
The 2014 US Open finalist has withdrawn from the US Open, which begins tomorrow, attributable to an unspecified damage.

Nishikori, who defeated Novak Djokovic en path to the 2014 US Open remaining, is changed within the males’s singles draw by fortunate loser James Duckworth (AUS), who will play Felipe Meligeni Alves (BRA) within the first spherical on Tuesday.
Former world No. 4 has seen his profession derailed by a collection of accidents.
In January 2022, Nishikori had arthroscopic surgical procedure on his left hip. Restoration and rehab knocked Nishikori out of the remainder of the 2022 season.
This 12 months, after coping with a foot damage at first of the season, Nishikori returned to tennis in June at an ATP Challenger occasion in Puerto Rico. Nishikori despatched on to take the title, the primary ever unranked participant ever to win an ATP Challenger title.
Final month, the 33-year-old Nishikori gained his first tour stage match since October 2021 topping Australia’s Jordan Thompson 7-6(5), 7-6(5) on the Atlanta Open.
