The Seagulls have been a mainstay in the Premier League since gaining promotion back into the top division in 2017 and have subsequently gone from strength to strength ever since. BRIGHTON 2 UNITED 3 (2020/21)
Arguably one of our most memorable games against Brighton has come in recent years, with a 3-2 win towards the start of our 2020/21 campaign a game that had everybody talking, let alone United fans. A back-and-forth encounter look as though the Reds were leaving with all three points thanks to Marcus Rashford putting us 2-1 up, but Solly March’s 95th minute equaliser seemed to have settled the score on the south coast. That was, of course, until Neal Maupay was deemed to have handled the ball inside the box and – even after the full-time whistle had been blown – VAR awarded a penalty to United. Bruno Fernandes subsequently stepped up to score with the last kick of the game.
